Comparing Air Force One and Prayer Force One - Friday, March 14, 2008

Air Force One is the name given to the plane that is used by the President of the United States. It serves as a flying White House, representing the power and prestige of the United States of America. Prayer Force One is an MCI bus that serves as the flagship of a national call to prayer ministry called Prayer Force One. Beside the obvious differences there are many unusual and striking similarities.

  • The plane known as Air Force One, (Sam 27000, a Boeing 707) and the bus known as Prayer Force One (An MCI, MC-7 Challenger) were both built in 1971 and first commissioned in 1972
  • Both were refurbished in 2005. Sam 27000, which had flown seven U.S. presidents, was restored and given to the American people for permanent display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. Our Greyhound, Super 7 Scenicruiser, re-entered service as Prayer Force One and is now being used to tour the country as part of a national call to prayer.
  • At the request of Jacqueline Kennedy, Air Force One’s paint scheme was developed by famed industrial designer, Raymond Loewy. Strangely enough, it was also Loewy who designed the paint scheme for Greyhound’s famed Scenicruisers. Both AF-1 and PF-1 were repainted in 2005 at the same time using the exact same paint.

  • Ronald Reagan started his political career using an MCI bus to travel across California in his first race for governor in 1966. He use an MC-7, to run for re-election in 1970. The journey he began aboard an MCI bus eventually landed him aboard Air Force One as President of the United States. Prayer Force One’s ministry is to “pray” future occupants of Air Force One into office.

  • Just as Air Force One is a traveling icon of the United States and the American Presidency, so too, Prayer Force One is a traveling icon of prayer and revival for America. However, although only a U.S. President can make an Air Force jet become Air Force One by stepping aboard, anyone and everyone can become a part of Prayer Force One.

To become a part of Prayer Force One, please write or e–mail us using the “Yes, I’ll Pray” button on our home page. We hope you will, because America needs prayer. We Welcome you aboard!
