Report From Pro-Family Legislators Conference - Thursday, November 20, 2008

Sandy and I send greetings from Dallas and The National Pro-Family Legislators Conference hosted by David Barton's Wallbuilders. This is the fourth year for this conference, which is one of the most important and informative legislative conferences in America.

For over twenty years, David Barton and Wallbuilders have labored to document and defend America's Christian heritage. David is far and away one of our country's greatest historians and a staunch defender of the faith. We are shown here with David as he toured Prayer Force One during our official appearance at the conference.

Yesterday, Prayer Force One held open house for nearly a hundred Christian lawmakers from all across America. These godly legislators were extremely encouraging to us as they toured "America's Flagship of Prayer". As a result, we received many invitations to come to state capitols from every region of the United States. Below are Senator Jeff Chapman and his wife, Angela, of Georgia during a PF-1 photo op. What a wonderful and enjoyable couple.

During dinner with another great couple, Senator Mark and Kathy Christensen of Nebraska, we were suprised to learn that we had met and prayed with her brother at an RV park in Kansas during our "maiden voyage" in 2007. What a small world! We look forward to visiting these and other legislative couples when PF-1 visits their home states.

During the Pro-Family conference, lawmakers from across America learn about legislative trends that could adversely impact personal and family rights. Here, legislators and their wives find not only an intense four days, packed with intelligent and knowledgeable speakers, but a warm setting in which to find encouragement from other like-minded senators and representatives.

One of the most helpful presentations to me was Ohio Congressman Bob McEwen's presentation called "Economics: Easy As Pie". I have never seen economics presented in such a practical and Biblical way.

On the last day of the conference, delegates where given a tour of Wallbuilders headquarters in Aledo, Texas. Here, in a sealed, semi-underground room is one of the largest collections of pre-revolutionary documents. Below, David instructs legislators while holding a rare copy of "The Bible of the Revolution" which was authorized and paid for by funds from the Continental Congress.

I'm shown here shouldering an actual musket used in the Revolutionary War, which is part of the Wallbuilders collection. May God also help us in today's spiritual struggle to preserve the godly heritage that our fathers left to us! Sandy and I told David that we would soon be donating some our own rare book, which we collected during The American Bicentennial.

Former Texas legislator and Wallbuilder associate, Rick Green, will be hosting a "Patriot Academy" for teens at the Texas capitol building in Austin this summer. Thanks Rick for inviting Prayer Force One to the Pro-Family Legislators Conference. Please uphold David Barton and Rick Green in your prayers. (Shown below) These two godly men are making a tremendous impact on our nation and its leaders!

We will soon be adding a courtesy link to Wallbuilder's web site from our home page. This will give you another good reason to make www.PrayerForceOne.com your home page. To do this, just go to our web site and click on the "Make us your homepage" link on the lower left side of the page.

The Daily Oklahoman newspaper recently did a very nice video piece on Prayer Force One that you may want to watch. To see it, just click on the photo above and it will take you to the article which you can read. Then, to view the video, just click on the video screen. After a commercial, you will then see the video piece. Until next time let's keep on praying in The White House.
