Since days of Ronald Reagan, the Republican Party has pined after another champion with his "star power". They have finally found him, and he is a she! Sarah Palin is even out performing the Democrats own darling, Barack Obama in "star appeal".
The appeal is in her mystery, her raw feminine political mystic. Even her recent, surprise resignation, instead of distracting, has only intensified the perfumed fragrance of her undeniable and inexplicable appeal.
In terms of established political protocol, Sarah Palin is different, unpredictable and mesmerizing; and the American people are enamored with it. She is the stuff that Hollywood would like to create but never could because they are incapable of understanding or appreciating the spiritual essence of her soul. Like Ronald Reagan before her, the press she spurns, utterly fails to understand why she resonates and connects with the American people. They can only surmise that it must be because she is "one of the people".
The real answer is their genuine, though humanly flawed spirituality. Looking past their imperfections, the American people are curiously drawn by the aura of their spiritual heartbeat. While liberals gravitate toward the sensual aspect of soul, the American heart longs for something much deeper. They long for the eternal, spiritual capacity of the soul; and therein lies the difference.
Even when Sarah Palin speaks, her words are laced with natural, perhaps unintended, spiritual overtones. She speaks of "coming to the kingdom for such a time as this". (Esther 4:14) When she resigned, the press utterly missed the spiritual significance of her words, "If I die, I die." (Esther 4:16) But somehow, a large portion of the American populace somehow "got it" and they will continue to "get it".
The piranhas of the mainstream liberal media, however, do not. They only understand that she is the main threat to their liberal, socialist, utopian dream. Sarah Palin is "the" threat, which must be destroyed at all cost. Hence, their frenzied hatred for all things "Sarah".
Thus, we remember the old saying that "A man is known by his enemies"... and so too is this woman! The liberal press pants after providing all American firsts. The first black president, the first Hispanic on the Supreme Court, the first woman in the White Hou... Uh, oh! This honor must never fall to the conservative, Christian likes of Sarah Palin. She must be badgered, maligned, ridiculed and destroyed at all cost. This and this alone explains the frothing hiss of the establishment press.
So where does this leave the rest of us; those of us who are not part of the liberal Eastern press? The answer to this is the same as it has always been. "We The People" must slug it out for the soul of the nation. This is what free democracy is all about; even if we must contend on an uneven playing field.
Am I endorsing Sarah Palin for president? Certainly not. How could I? She's not even a candidate. I, like everyone else, can only guess at Sarah Palin's intentions. Is she running for president, and will her resignation hurt her? I don't know. I only know what she said in her resignation speech. That she "has passed the (gubernatorial?) ball", while "keeping her eye on the basket." The White House??? Who knows!
In the meantime, I, like many other common, grass root Americans, resonate with her because of the tantalizing spiritual mystery that is "Sarah Palin"; and... because of the enemies she keeps!
