Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Sandy and I have just returned from The National Prayer Summit of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, held last week at Focus On The Family headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. What a blessing to see so many of you in person at the Summit. Please allow me to report on the trip. At the end of this letter, you can watch a special slide presentation by clicking on last photo. (The one of our granddaughter, Isabelle.)

Eisenhower Presidential Library

     On the way to the Summit, we stopped by the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Kansas. Here you can see Ike's boyhood home and enjoy history as only a presidential library can present it. I was especially interested in obtaining Eisenhower quotes for our upcoming article/booklet entitled Ike's Finest Hour.

     Just inside the stained glass chapel in which President Eisenhower is interred, is a beautiful quote, etched in stone, that contains Ike's testimony to, and defense of America's godly heritage. My photograph of the Eisenhower quote is shown below.

     It was Ike who was also largely responsible for seeing to it that the words "Under God" were added to our Pledge of Allegiance. President Eisenhower wisely said:

     "Without God, there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first and most basic expression of Americanism."

     The good Lord knows that we sure need another president like Dwight Eisenhower. May I say that, "I still like Ike!" Let us pray that God will again give us a president of Eisenhower's moral and patriotic stature.

At Glen Eyrie & The Famed Garden of the Gods

     During our trip to the Summit, we were again blessed to be accompanied by Barry and Bonnie Blenis. Barry is co-founder of Prayer Force One. Upon our arrival in Colorado Springs, we were privileged to stay at Glen Eyrie, the Navigators' Christian retreat center. This area has to be one of the ten natural wonders of America, as you can see from the next few photographs.

     Right next door to Glen Eyrie, is the fabled Garden of the Gods. I took the following photo of Barry Blenis at Balancing Rock. This picture reminds me of the power of prayer. Where both our faith and our nation are concerned, let us, "Hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown." (Revelation 3:11)

     As we came upon the  rock formation shown below, my minds eye didn't see a rock but the famous "Praying Hands". Do you see them too? In this "Garden of the one true and living God", I can see how even the rocks testify to America that "God shed His grace on thee" and that we are summoned to return to the God of all creation. Watch for a soon coming e-mail that will visually send forth this praying hands rock formation and a call to prayer, as we present it  in a very unique and surprising way. I think your going to really enjoy it!

The National Prayer Summit

     This years Summit featured Fox News commentator Michelle Malkin, who spoke concerning the national media. What a blessing Michelle was. We were then blessed by two wonderful messages by Will Graham, grandson of Billy Graham. I sincerely believe we will hear a great deal of this powerful young preacher. Sandy and I are shown here with Will Graham after his address.

     The delegates then heard from Tony Perkins of the Washington-based Family Policy Council. The Christian Community is being well served by this great and gifted man. Tony came out and toured Prayer Force One during its open house time, front and center at Focus on the Family HQ.

     During the Summit, Prayer Force One was invited to Florida, the Carolinas, Virginia, New York, Delaware, Kansas, the Dakotas and Arizona. Pray that God will give us wisdom of what invitations to accept. On Saturday, I also addressed the delegates at the Summit. Click on the photo below to see and hear our words to the delegates.
